Is my card data safe?+
Yes. Card numbers, balances, and notes live on your device only — they never leave your phone, and we don't have access to them. Cartava doesn't run servers that hold your data.
Does Cartava work with physical and digital gift cards?+
Both. Scan a barcode or QR on a physical card, snap a photo of an e‑gift email, or just type the brand and balance manually. Once it's in, it's tracked the same way.
Does it actually use the balance, or just track it?+
Just tracks. To redeem a card you still hand the cashier your physical card or read out the code. Cartava's job is to make sure you remember it exists — and what's on it — before you walk into the store.
Is it really free? Where's the catch?+
It's really free. No subscription, no premium tier, no ads. Cartava is a small project, and we'd rather build something useful than monetize a wallet you carry every day.
What about Android?+
Cartava is iOS‑first today. Android is on the roadmap — if you want to be notified when it's ready, the App Store button on Android will route you to a one‑tap signup that doesn't ask for an account.
What if I lose my phone?+
Cartava can sync an encrypted backup to your iCloud account so a new phone restores your wallet automatically. Backup is opt‑in — if you'd rather keep everything strictly local, leave it off.
